In these Terms and Conditions, any use of the words “you”, “your”, or similar expressions shall mean any user of this website, associated digital tools, and application services whatsoever. Terms such as “we”, “us”, “our”, or “Microbial” shall mean Microbial and its subsidiaries.
This website, microbial.ng (the “Website”), the connected digital microscope infrastructure (Lavender™), the iSales commerce portal, and associated software suites are operated by Microbial.
Please read this page carefully as it sets out the terms that apply to your use of the Website, hardware telemetry services, and applications, and any part of their content and all materials appearing on them. By accessing or using the platform, you confirm that you accept these Terms and Conditions and that you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, please refrain from using the Website and platform.
YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM IF YOU ARE UNDER 18
If you are under 18, you may need your parent, academic advisor, or departmental guardian to assist you with your use of the Website and in reviewing these Terms and Conditions. If anything is difficult to understand, please ask your faculty supervisor or contact our support team at hello@microbial.ng.
If you are aged 13 or under, you cannot independently register an account on the Microbial platform without the verified consent of your academic department or parent/guardian.
CREDIT-BASED PAYMENT INFRASTRUCTURE
Certain features of Microbial—including the procurement of diagnostic reagents via iSales, specialized logistics dispatch to partner sequencing centers, and automated compute time on the AI co-pilot—operate on a proprietary credit ledger.
All top-ups of platform credits through approved payment gateways are final. Credits remain valid within the Microbial ecosystem, are non-transferable outside verified accounts, and carry no independent cash redemption value once acquired.
THIRD-PARTY ALLIANCES & SAMPLE LOGISTICS
Microbial facilitates integrations with accredited external institutions, including the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and certified third-party courier couriers for specialized biological specimen handling.
While Microbial oversees data pipeline connectivity and tracking transparency, fulfillment of off-platform physical sequencing and third-party laboratory assays remains governed by the respective partner institutions' biological safety and operating protocols.
DATA CONFIDENTIALITY, TELEMETRY & WHIXPAR
User research observations entered into the digital laboratory notebook and specimen telemetry generated via Lavender™ microscopes are preserved with strict encryption and data isolation.
Community features such as “Whixpar” provide encrypted, pseudonymous channels for academic feedback, student whistleblowing, and collaborative conference discourse. Users are advised to exercise discretion and refrain from disclosing proprietary national clinical specimens or patient-identifying medical records.
INSTITUTIONAL GOVERNANCE & FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT
Microbial provides digital audit logs, dues collection automation, and treasury oversight tools for departmental student associations, executive committees, and institutional boards of trustees. Users assigned executive administrative rights must uphold the highest standards of financial integrity and fiduciary responsibility. Microbial reserves the right to freeze accounts involved in unauthorized ledger manipulation.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Microbial and its proprietary hardware systems are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While our engineering team strives for uninterrupted server availability and diagnostic reliability, Microbial shall not be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from network outages or diagnostic variance.
